This miniature Vienna Regulator is in extremely nice, as found condition. At only 30 inches in length, this little gem has all of its appropriate pieces - a miniature zinc-backed bob, which is quite heavy for its size, a miniature beat scale, wall stabilizers, pendulum rod and fittings - and all of its components are of the same quality you would find on a hand-made Viennese piece of the 1840's, just on a much smaller scale. Interestingly, the mechanism, weight, pendulum top bracket, and wall bracket are all serial numbered 1598 in very fine numerals.

Needless to say, the mechanism is typical for a Viennese piece - of the highest quality, and in very nice condition. It has clearly been cleaned in the last year or two, and, with the exception of the use of monofilament weight line, is in excellent condition. Monofilament will provide you years of service, I just happen to like other weight lines better. If you desire I can give the mechanism a clean and replace the line for $75.

The dial is perfect, as is the bezel, hands, pulley and winding key. The dial measures four inches in diameter, the bob three and a half. And, this case comes with all of its original finials, and old glass to both sides, though the door glass is later.

True weight-driven miniature Vienna Regulators are rare, and a delight to find. While this clocks case, with its deep maroon hue, could use a good clean and wax, it would be appropriate to hang as it is. And, with a fairly clean mechanism that runs nicely - it is ready to enjoy!

Caveats: The case could use cleaned and waxed.
